King Regis sent off Noctis and the band (Gladiolus, Ignis, Prompto) to to Accordo's capital city of Altissia, where Noctis's wedding to Lunafreya is to take place.
King Regis:
“Take care on the long road. Wheresoever you should go, the line of Lucis goes with you. Walk tall, my son”

- Cor drives the car with Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto heading to the royal garage -
Noctis:
“Where are you taking us Cor?”
Cor:
“I have special order from your majesty to hand over your wedding present directly to you”
- arrives at the royal garage, seeing a blanket covered car outside the garage -
Prompto:
“Whoaa I have a good feeling about this”
Cor: (while uncovered the Regalia)
“This was your father’s long time ago. It represent the might and wonder of Lucis Kingdom. Please take care of it”
(In excitement, Noctis immediately takes the key out of Cor’s hand and jump in the car along with Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis ignoring what Cor saying)
Ignis:
“Aren’t you coming with us?”
Cor:
“No, I will stay here by majesty. Imsomnia will need more protection during the peace treaty”
(Noctis starts the engine)
Cor:
“Oh be gentle, it has been a while since the last time Regalia used by your father. It might also need a bit tune up since this is a car from ages ago. Also beware of the fuel consumption, I haven't fill her up”
VROOOOMMMM!
(Noctis drives the Regalia in full speed out of the city)
Cor:
“Hmpph… Kids these days….”

The scene suddenly switch to Noctis’ dream where he is facing off the fiery Ifrit as a premonition of what will happen in the future
- fade to white -
Noctis:
“Akh so hot!”
Gladiolus:
“Hey prince wake up! Stop dilly dallying”
The scene back to Noctis and friends after leaving Imsomnia, apparently Regalia broke down in the middle of the street, hoping to get help from passerby
Gladiolus:
“I think we can forget about hitching our way there… Thought people were friendly outside the city.”
Ignis:
“You can only go so far on the kindness of strangers”
Gladiolus:
“Just gonna have to push her all the way”
Prompto:
“I’ve already pushed myself… to the brink of death”
Gladiolus:
“Oh get up! Cmon car isn’t gonna move itself”
Prompto:
“I thought the car was supposed to move us”
(Noctis and friends pushing the car)
Editor’s Note
The opening cutscene hint that Cor should drive Noctis and friends somewhere before Noctis is out of the city with Regalia. You can even see Cor is standing in front of the car (not Regalia) in the cutscene. The most make-sense thing that could happen after Noctis left his father is that Cor is taking Noctis somewhere to reveal his father gift, the Regalia, before Noctis finally drives it leaving out Imsomnia city. I think it is important to have the grand reveal of Regalia since this car plays a major role throughout the game. The additional scene of Cor driving Noctis is not just to reveal the Regalia but also to give a background story & character to Cor, and why is Cor still inside the Imsomnia city and why does Noctis call Cor after finding out the Imsomnia has fall later on…
I remember when playing the game, I found it to be a bit weird to call someone name “Cor”, with no proper introduction to who the hell “Cor” is, while watching his city being destroyed instead of trying to get back into the city and find out the safety of his father by himself…
