CHAPTER 2:
Ill-Fated City
- Cutscenes from Kingsglaive the movie when King Regis stabbed by General Glauca with Nyx and Luna fleeing out of citadel -
Protecting The City
Inside the crown city, things are in chaos, peoples shouting and running all over the city. Niflheim troops are shooting innocent people. Noctis and friends have no choice to ditch Regalia and go on by foot to citadel while fighting Niflheim troops.
Noctis:
“What the hell is going on here?!”
Ignis:
“One thing for sure that there is no such thing as peace”
Gladiolus:
“Quick! We must kill those Niflheim bastards ruining our city!”
As Noctis and friends continues to press forward, they watch more imperials dreadnought flying over Imsomnia dropping more imperial troops.
Prompto:
“Jeezz they are too many! We are not really progressing here”
Gladiolus:
“Could someone deal with the airships?!”
Ignis:
“Noct, you are the only who is capable to downed the ships. Go to the top of building and bring them down!”
>>> Gladiolus, Ignis, Prompto left the party
Noctis finds his way to the top of building and warp strike to some of the Niflheim airships. Noctis battle out some Niflheim troops inside the airships to one airship and another. After some airships down, Noctis reunite with friends.

Gladiolus:
“Yeahhh that’s how you deal with Niflheim”
Ignis:
“We must haste to the citadel and help the king!”
The Old Wall
Going further into the city, more airships coming into Imsonia…. along with Diamond Weapon with them…
Promto:
“Whattt thee helll is thatt thing?!?!?!”
Gladiolus:
“How are we supposed to fight that thing?!”
Ignis:
“Are they trying to level the city with that?!”
Noctis:
“I have to see my father. Let’s go!”
Noctis and friends keep pressing forward into the city while avoiding some havoc from Diamond Weapon. Suddenly, the giant royal statue near them moving by itself and protect Noctis and friends from falling building wreckage.
Prompto:
“What?! The statue protecting us?!”
Gladiolus:
“This is not something you can see everyday huh”
Ignis:
“This is the mighty of the Old Wall. The statues are the symbolic representation of the old king of Lucis. They must have been awakened by the need to save the city”
Noctis”
“Then there is still hope to the city! Quick we need to help my father!”
The Hero
Standing on the hand of the moving statue of Lucis king, Noctis and friends are able to oversee the destruction of Imsomnia and witness an aerial battle between a kingsglaive and Niflheim general.
Prompto:
“Look there is a fighting over there!”
Gladiolus:
“It is Nyx Ulric of Galahd, known as the ‘hero’ among the kingsglaive”
Prompto:
“Who is fighting him?”
Ignis:
“Not sure but it looks like General Glauca from Niflheim”
Noctis and friends were put down by the royal arm statue on top of the building and continue to approach the battle between Nyx and Glauca. While fighting with Glauca, Nyx notice that there are some people approaching. With an instant, Nyx drops a building wreckage on top of Glauca with a fireball to stop the battle for a moment.
Nyx:
“Prince Noctis!!!” *shocked for seeing Noctis in Imsomnia
“What the hell are you doing here?!?! You are supposed to be far from Imsomnia by now”
“Go away! You are not safe here!”
Noctis:
“I want to see my father!”
Glauca:
“YOU FATHER IS DEAD!!!”
*Glauca jumps in to Noctis and try to slash him but held back by Nyx kukris
Noctis:
“What?!” *shocked by hearing what Glauca just said
Glauca:
“What a coincidence! Thought I just need to kill his father for revenge but now I have the chance to end the Lucis line as well. Right here, right now”
Noctis angered easily and without hesitate Noctis draw his armiger to strike Glauca.
>>> Gladiolus, Ignis, Prompto left the party
<<< Nyx join the party
With a series of warp strikes, the battle bring Glauca, Nyx and Noctis away from Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto. Blindly by anger, Noctis attack Glauca without worrying himself being stabbed back. Most of the times, Nyx prevent, guard and help Noctis from being harmed. After a series of attacks, Nyx uses a point-blank lightning bolt to push away Glauca and backing off Noctis from getting more into trouble. Noctis being warped back by Nyx to his friend.
Nyx:
“Stop it Prince Noctis! You just gonna make yourself killed!”
Noctis:
“I can finish him off!”
Nyx:
“Go away! There is nothing left for you here”
Noctis:
“I want to see my father!”
Nyx: (while grabbing Noctis shirt)
“YOUR FATHER IS DEAD!!!”
“Open your eyes! Imsomnia has fallen… you are now our last and only hope…
there will be time for you to reclaim the throne, rebuild and restore but today is not that day…. today you walk away from this nightmare…
Your father made me promise to get Lady Lunafreya safe so that she could meet you at Altisia…
Noctis:
“Luna is here?!”
Nyx:
“Was. And you also will….
Find Luna, get the ring and get stronger!”
Nyx creates a mirror wall to separate Nyx with Noctis and friends. (Just like King Regis did to allow Nyx and Luna away)
Nyx:
“NOW GO!!!”
Nyx turn back and fight Glauca endlessly.

<<< Gladiolus, Ignis, Prompto join the party
Noctis and firends backing up by going back to the street trying to get out from Imsomnia. They meet up with Cor along the way back out the city.
Cor:
“Prince Noctis! Why are you here?!”
Noctis:
“Cor! The hell’s going on?
Is it true?…. that my father died?”
Cor:
“It is true… if you’re looking for the whole truth, we need to get out of here alive! Get moving!”
<<< Cor join the party
With Cor’s help, Noctis and friends make way to get out of the Imsomnia city and finally able to get back to Regalia. As the moment they drive out of the city, Noctis turn and see the whole Imsomnia burn with deep sadness and anger.
Editor’s Note
This is my favorite part of the story and this is what I had expected when I saw Kingsglaive: The Movie and some E3 game trailers back then. This additional chapter serve as a retelling the climax part of the Kingsglaive: The Movie based on Noctis’s point of view. This is the part where I expect the Final Fantasy 15 game would be more ambitious after all that released game trailers shown. This additional chapter is also to create a more meaningful, emotional to Noctis having first hand seeing Imsomnia has fallen rather that just finding it out from a newspaper headline. I believe the idea of having Noctis and friends fighting Niflheim troops inside Imsomnia has been there in the development because we have seen it in the earlier game trailers, I have no idea why they decide to cut it out from the game.
The fateful meeting with Nyx Ulrich will also bring a more “make-sense” idea when Ardyn decide to show the dead bodies for Noctis’s loved ones later at almost the end of the game. Why in the world would Ardyn show Nyx’s dead body if Noctis didn’t even knew who the hell he is?! Nyx role here is not just a fan service as the main protagonist in Kingsglaive: The Movie to show-up in the game but also as the one who reassured Noctis that King Regis is dead, Lady Lunafreya was in Imsomnia city and telling Noctis what to do next. Beside all that reasons, I'm pretty sure the part where Noctis co-op with Nyx is a total fan service that we all really want!
