CHAPTER 10:
Callings (Part 2)
- The day of the rite -
Into the Fray
In the morning, Noctis is back with his friends while Luna having a meeting with Camelia before the speech. Afterward, Luna comes up to the altar to address her speech to the public.
After the speech, imperial airships shows up on top of Altissia which is the signal for Noctis and friends to prepare themselves for battle. Imperial army will once again try to bring down the Astral before Noctis able to claim its blessings. Noctis will bring down the imperial airship and army while Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto helps with the evacuation.
Verstael: (from inside on of the airship, speaking through a megaphone)
“To the people of Altissia. Have you turn your back on the empire? Having conspiracy with the Lucis representation meaning you betray the emperor. Not to mention that you’ve been hiding a fugitive we wanted all this time. The sentence for your treason is Extermination”
One of the imperial airship surrounding the Altissia is Commodore Aranea Highwind airship.
Biggs:
“Are we going to destroy the city as well? I thought our target is the Leviathan”
Wedge:
“What is your order Commodore?”
Aranea:
“Stand down! We didn’t sign up for this massacre. We will not stain our hands with the blood of innocent people”
A moment later, Luna begins her rite to awaken the Hydraean, Leviathan. Feeling disturbed, Leviathan will not submit to Luna therefore Leviathan start to attack Luna but as an Oracle, Luna able to withstand the attack and limiting Leviathan’s movement. Meanwhile Noctis defeating some imperial troops on ground while his friend evacuating citizens. After a while, Noctis start to warp around imperial airships and flying debris to be finally reach Leviathan asking for its power. But Leviathan refuse to submit to Noctis and even throw Noctis away.
Noctis:
“So the only way you’ll help me is to take you down?”
At this moment Leviathan movement still limited due to suppression of Luna’s power. Noctis reunited with his friends after being thrown away by Leviathan. They all decide to go help Luna first before going elsewhere.
A moment later, Ardyn show up trying to get near Luna. Noctis and friends prevent Ardyn getting near Luna.
Noctis start by warp striking Ardyn but deflected immediately with Ardyn’s umbrella. Crushing Noctis to Gladiolus. Prompto then attempts to shoot Ardyn but Ardyn quickly open up his umbrella to deflect the bullets. Lastly, Ignis try to throw a fire flask magic to directly to Ardyn but again Ardyn swiftly knock back the fire flask to Noctis and friends and concidentally explode in front of Ignis, causing Ignis’s eyeglass shattered into pieces and hurt his eyes.
With the fall of Noctis and friends, Ardyn made it through to get near Luna.
Ardyn:
“It is not easy to find you little princess. Your brother did a good job hiding you”
Ardyn:
“Now, about that ring… on second thought. You can let him have it”
Ardyn stab Luna with knife
Noctis: (looking from afar)
“Noooo!!!!!”
Ardyn:
“And do remind him about the crystal”
Ardyn:
“O prince! Your bride awaits”
Luna:
“I will pass the ring to the rightful king”
Ardyn grab Luna’s chin and Luna grab Ardyn hands. By the time Luna grab Ardyn’s hand, it start healing proofing that inside Ardyn’s body is full of demons need to be cleansed.
Luna:
“When the prophecy is fulfilled, all in thrall to darkness shall know peace”
Ardyn didn’t like it and he is going to stab Luna to death. In a sudden, Aranea jump off toward Ardyn protecting Luna.
Ardyn:
“Ugh which side are you on?”
Aranea:
“Definitely not on the side of a guy who stab a lady”
Knowing that Aranea cannot win a fight over Ardyn, swiftly Aranea jump off saving Luna far from Ardyn.
Ardyn:
“Damn mercenary!”
After stabbed losing a lot of blood, Luna is no longer able to hold off Leviathan. Leviathan now grow stronger and rampaging the structures around it. Leviathan start creating a giant tsunami wall, wreck havoc everything inside it.
Ardyn: (while facing to Noctis)
“I believe you have bigger things to handle before everything here is gone. I bid you farewell”
Ardyn left in imperial airship.
Leaving his friends behind, Noctis try to chase Ardyn out but Leviathan attack prevent Noctis reaching Ardyn's warship. Leviathan start attacking Noctis, challenging Noctis whether he is proven worth to be the king. Gladiolus and Prompto help Ignis out from the battle between Noctis and Leviathan. But apparently, Noctis was clearly outmatched by Leviathan. In the distance, Luna draw her last power to lend Noctis her Spear of Oracle and awaken Noctis armiger power.
Luna:
“Walk tall my dear Noctis”
Noctis armiger power has temporarily awaken. Noctis can unleash devastating blows to Leviathan and fight equally. After a lot of slashing, Leviathan backing off. After delivering the final blow, Noctis armiger power starting to wear off. Noctis unable to move his body fell off from the sky looking at Luna dying on Aranea hands. Leviathan try to bite the falling Noctis but in an instant Titan show up from beneath the sea, capturing Noctis and preventing him from being biten by Leviathan. The battle ends with Titan creating earth barrier to protect Noctis getting killed, preventing Leviathan to do any more action.
Editor’s Note
The second part of this chapter is the Leviathan rite where everything turn into chaos. In this chapter, I added a bigger role for Aranea Highwind as her turning point away from Niflheim forces. In this chapter also serve as the first battle with Ardyn that lead to an explanation how Ignis lose his sight. Also in this chapter, added more reason why Noctis and Gladio lead to fight later on. In a way Gladio feel betrayed by Noctis because Noctis left to chase Ardyn instead of helping his friends who just got beaten up by Ardyn, especially for not helping Ignis who just lost his sight.

At this moment I write the revised story of the game, Episode Ignis haven't come out yet nor its trailer. My prediction is that the future Episode Ignis will explain how Ignis lose his sight but I am not gonna wait for that Episode so I decide to imagine by myself of what is happening that made Ignis lose his sight. I am so pissed that this major event didn't happen in the main game, instead they choose to released in future DLC content.
