CHAPTER 10:
Callings (Part 1)
- A cutscene of Ravus and Ardyn having conversation. Ardyn seems to suspect Ravus for not really sided with the imperial and ask whether he know anything about his sister -
Ardyn:
“The wedding day arrives, but alas, without the bride…. Of course, you’ve come for the Hydraean, and you’ve gone such lengths to prepare”
Ravus:
“Merely my duty”
Ardyn:
“Ah, but for an outsider to lead the imperial army must be a battle in and of itself”
“Have you met with Lady Lunafreya?”
Ravus:
“No”
Ardyn:
“Ah such a powerful lady fighting across Duscae by herself no where to be found…. I wonder if she had any help along the way, probably a help from his brother perhaps?”
Ravus:
“………….”
Ardyn:
“You have been busy my friend. Are you trying to slay off the Hydraean for your poor sister’s sake?”
Ardyn:
“I know the price of the covenant”
Altissia, City on the Sea
The scene back at Noctis and friends on the boat heading to Altissia. Along with Cid as the driver, they have a numerous conversation regarding Lunafreya, the ring, Ravus motives, and lastly about Weskham, who once friends with King Regis and now running a cafe at Altissia called Maagho.
Near Altissia, a radio broadcast signal received informing about the upcoming Lady Lunafreya public appearance to give speech about the awakening the Leviathan.
Finally, Noctis and friends arrive at Altissia. Altissia is a big city, full of winding streets, back alleys, and canals that crisscross the place much like Venice. Like Venice, the gondola rides will be your main port of transportation to the corners of the city. Cid will suggest that they meet up with Weskham for more information about what is happening at Altissia so they decide to pay a visit to Maagho.
Meeting with Weskham at the Maagho, Noctis receives information about the Altissia as independent country but NIflheim army may roam freely and the fact that Lady Lunafreya definitely at Altissia but nowhere can be seen. A moment later, Camelia Claustra, the first secretary of the Accordo Protectorate show up and demand a meeting with Noctis as representation of Lucis kingdom. She inform that her government have Lady Lunafreya in care and would like to know what a Lucis king could offer to benefit the country before handing offer Lunafreya to Noctis. She ask Noctis to come to her estate for discussion.

The Summit
As Noctis and friends heading to the secretary’s estate, Gentiana shows up and inform that Noctis can revisit past memories through Umbra’s power. At secretary’s estate, Noctis and Camelia having a negotiation. Most of the negotiation ask the help of Noctis and friends to ensure the safety of Altissia citizens and engage with the empire. After the negotiation, Camelia let Lady Lunafreya meet up with Noctis. After the long waited moment, they embrace each other…
Luna:
“I am sorry Noctis”
Noctis:
“Don’t be…. It must be hard for you”
The scene then will show Camelia and Weskham having conversation looking out the window where Noctis and Luna walking out the secretary’s estate meeting up with Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto for the very first time.
Camelia:
“I can’t promise something I can’t help”
Weskham:
“Of course. You certainly opened up to them, though”
Camelia:
“What can I say? I have a soft spot for the young and tragic. They’ve lost Regis, they’ve lost the Crystal… Was it so long ago the last Oracle was taken away from them?”
Luna:
The scene takes back at the Leville hotel where Luna tell stories about what happened at Imsomnia, the death of King Regis and how she manage to get to Altissia.
Noctis:
“So Nyx was the one who help you out of Imsomnia. I owe him so much. I should’ve help him avenge my father back then”
Luna:
“You met with Nyx?”
Ignis:
“We were also back at Imsomnia during the attack. We have come across with Nyx fighting General Glauca but Nyx fordbid us to help him. He force us to flee”
Prompto:
“Back then Nyx also told us to find you and the ring”
Noctis:
“So where is the ring?”
Luna: (not wanting to hand over the ring to Noctis because she knew it will burden Noctis even more)
“Mmm I hid it somewhere safe. In time you will eventually have your ring. I promise that. In the meantime why don’t we have fun. We should celebrate our reunion”
Gladiolus:
“That’s a good idea. We are at Altissia after all”
Prompto:
“And my camera is ready for an action”
Noctis and friends along with Luna decide to have fun for a more relaxing moment before the dawn breaks where Luna will perform a commune event with the Hydraean.
Ignis:
“Noct, you go ahead with Lady Lunafreya. We need to discuss with Weskham and Cid about tomorow evacuation plan”
Prompto:
“Are we?…… Ooooo yeah that plan”
Gladiolus:
“We will meet you back at the hotel. In the meantime, enjoy your date!”
Gladiolus push both Noctis and Luna out from the hotel. Noctis and Luna officially having a date night for the very first time (and will be last time). First stop, Luna decide to take a look at her wedding dress being display at the shop. In front of the dress, Luna imagining how she will look like inside that dress. Noctis then explain how wonderful the dress is as it not just beautiful but also become the symbol of peace. Second stop, Luna really want to ride a gondola together with Noctis. Noctis and Luna then board a gondola while admiring the night view of Altissia city. Third stop, after walking around Altissia, Luna feels hungry. Later they decide to have a candle light dinner at Maagho. While having dinner, apparently Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto are stalking nearby.
Gladiolus:
“They are such a perfect couple”
Ignis:
“Indeed. This the first time we can see Noctis smiles a lot”
Prompto:
“Could guys stop moving! I am trying to take a picture here”
Noctis: (knowing his friends around stalking him)
“Ehem…. I can hear guys you loud and clear”
Luna: (giggles)
“You guys are so funny”
Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto revealing themselves from behind the bar.
Luna:
“I wish I have fun companions during my journey”
Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto:
“…………..”
Prompto:
“Hey we haven’t take any picture together. Why don’t we do it now?”
Noctis:
“Good idea. Let’s do it!”
Noctis and Luna along with Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto take picture of them at Maagho as their first (and last) photo being together.

Last stop, Luna decide to have a private moment with Noctis on a bench viewing the sea. Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto backing off immediately although it doesn’t stop Prompto to take a picture of both Noctis and Luna sitting on the bench.
Luna:
“I wonder what would be of us tomorrow”
Noctis:
“We never know until we see it through”
Luna:
“I wish things would happen differently. I wish I am not an oracle and you are not the kings you are supposed to be. And live like a normal people”
Noctis:
“I bet there will be reasons behind all these things happen”
Luna:
“………..”
Noctis:
“Don’t worry Luna. Everything gonna be just fine. After we reclaim the throne, we will happily rule this kingdom with the best we can”
Luna burst into tears, knowing that Noctis didn’t even know his fate. Noctis hug Luna tightly to comfort her. And they are overslept on the bench while the dawn breaks.
Editor’s Note
This is the chapter in the game where everything starts to feel rushed. This chapter will undergone major changes in my version, so major that it will need to be separated into 3 parts. The parts are Noctis and Luna reunion, the battle with Hydraean and Luna's death.

Have you ever wonder why the city of Altisia designed to be similar to the well-known romantic city in the world, Venice? Beside this is the place where Noctis and Luna will be married, it is the best place to have a romantic scene in the game. And that is what I think needed in this game to have a deeper connection between Noctis and Luna. Throughout the game, we get some childhood scenes but none of them explain what kind of relationship they have at present which I think very important to elevate the emotional journey when we saw Luna's death. I must say that the Luna's death scene was very beautiful but in my opinion it is lacking the emotional connection to Luna. I don't really feel that sad when Luna dies. I don't feel the same emotional way like how Noctis react when he found out Luna is death. And that is the main reason why I change this chapter, mostly to provide a deeper connection between Noctis and Luna by having a short and final date before Luna dies. Having brotherhood theme in most part of the game, I think it is okay to have this chapter to serve a deeper bonding with Luna instead with his boyband. This romantic dating scene will replace the Noctis-Iris dating scene that is irrelevant with the whole story.
